Walcha Council has received an application from Winterbourne Wind Pty Ltd seeking development consent for the redevelopment and expansion of the Walcha Caravan Park, 113N Middle Street, Walcha. The proposal includes the demolition of existing structures (9 existing cabins and ancillary buildings) and the construction of new accommodation cabins, and associated engineering and servicing upgrades to support the expanded facility. The redevelopment will include the retention of 6 existing cabins and the construction of 36 new accommodation cabins including associated access and amenity improvements.
Development application 10.2026.6 is “integrated development” under section 4.46 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The proposal involves works in proximity to a prescribed waterway requiring approval from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) under section 91 of the Water Management Act 2000.
Any person may make a submission in relation to the development application. Submissions must be received by Walcha Council in writing by Close of Business on 27 March 2026.
