Council Meetings

From February to November Council hold their monthly Ordinary Meetings on the last Wednesday of the month. In December Council hold their Ordinary Meeting on the second Wednesday of the month. Normally, there is no Meeting in January.

The Meetings are held at the Council Chambers, Hamilton Street, Walcha. Council Meetings commence at 1:30pm and members of the community are welcome to attend.

Extra Ordinary Meetings are held when the Mayor receives a request in writing, signed by at least two Councillors, and the Extra Ordinary Meeting must be held as soon as practicable, no more than 14 days after receipt of the request.  The Mayor can be one of the two Councillors requesting the Meeting.  These are held when Council business cannot wait until the next Ordinary Meeting of Council and is therefore deemed to be urgent.

Clr Anne-Marie Pointing

First Elected to Council on 04 December 2021.

Clr Pointing is a member of the following Council Committees:

  • Walcha Council Beautification Advisory Committee;

  • Walcha Council’s General Manager’s Performance Review Committee.

Clr Pointing is also Council’s Delegate on the Walcha Centre Management Committee (MPC).

Clr Eric Noakes

First Elected to Council on 10 September 2016.

Elected as Mayor on 28 September 2016, re-elected unopposed on
22 December 2021 and re-elected unopposed on 9 October 2024.
