Community Strategic Plan - Walcha 2035

A Community Strategic Plan is a plan that identifies the main priorities and aspirations for the future of the local government area covering a period of at least 10 years from when the plan is endorsed.

As part of the Integrated Planning & Reporting legislation, each newly elected Council must complete a review of the Community Strategic Plan by the 30 June following a LG Election.

Council have consulted with the community of Walcha through a survey specifically for this document which was promoted through social media, Council’s website, advertisements in the Apsley Advocate, a stall at the Walcha Show, posters and promotional material displayed in various shops in Walcha and distribution of hard copies at venues such as the Library.

Council adopted the Community Strategic Plan Walcha 2035 at its Ordinary Meeting held on Wednesday, 25 June 2025 and now proudly present it to the community for information and reference.

Clr Rachel Greig

Clr Anne-Marie Pointing

First Elected to Council on 04 December 2021.

Clr Pointing is a member of the following Council Committees:

  • Walcha Council’s General Manager’s Performance Review Committee.

Clr Eric Noakes

First Elected to Council on 10 September 2016.

Elected as Mayor on 28 September 2016, re-elected unopposed on
22 December 2021 and re-elected unopposed on 9 October 2024.

Councillor Noakes is Council’s Delelgate on the following Committees:

  • Walcha Local Health Committee
  • Coalition of Renewable Energy Mayors (CoREM)
