Fees & Charges

Fees payable are comprised of three separate parts.

Part 1:             Resident fee – covers part of the Care Cost and is means tested.   Please note that the balance of the Care Costs are paid on your behalf by the Federal Government and it is based on your AN-ACC rating (Australian National Aged Care Classification).

Part 2:             Hotel costs (catering, laundry, cleaning etc) – charged at 85% of your pension or a Basic Daily Fee

Part 3:             Accommodation costs (rent) – Refundable Accommodation Deposit or Daily Accommodation Payment, or a combination of both

Pensioner Supplement – for pensioners this is paid by the Government, for non-pensioners, it is an additional daily charge.

Income Tested Fee – a specific, means tested charge which is deducted from the care subsidy the Government pays Walcha Council, hence it is added to the resident fee. It is based on income above the allowable income for full pensioners.

Everyone’s financial situation is different, so Walcha Council will help you through this process.

Accommodation Fees

Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RADs) or Daily Accommodation Payment (DAPs):
