On-site Sewage Management Strategy

Within the Walcha LGA there are approximately 930 on-site sewage management systems.  These systems range from conventional septic systems to secondary treatment systems such as aerated wastewater treatment systems.  The number is increasing as more development occurs in the rural and semi-rural areas.  With the local environment stressed and sensitive to further pollution, careful control and improved regulation of such systems is essential.
 
To reflect updates in legislation and operational procedures, along with the responsibilities of Council, the On-site Sewage Management Strategy has been updated regularly to assist in the regulation of on-site sewage management systems.

First Elected to Council on 04 December 2021.
