Rural Waste Facilities Woolbrook & Nowendoc

Walcha Council has a Waste Transfer Facility at Woolbrook & Nowendoc which residents can access with a uniquely coded fob.

Each rateable property incurs a waste management fee as a part of land rates, if you have amalgamated your rural properties for land rates purposes you are only entitled to one (1) smart key fob; it is one (1) smart key fob per rural waste management fee paid for a property in the Walcha LGA.

If you aren’t in the Walcha LGA and don’t pay rates to Walcha Council but reside at a property that is the vicinity of the Woolbrook or Nowendoc Waste Facilities you can pay Walcha Council a Rural Waste Management Fee of $267.00 (2023-2024 finanical year) to have access to either of these facilities.

The Woolbrook Waste Facility or Nowendoc Waste Facility agreements are available to download.  A fob fee of $40 for the 2023-2024 financial year is payable for this fob in addition to the Waste Management Fee.

These fobs have 52 daytime access’s permitter per year and your fob will need to be reprogrammed annually at the Walcha Council Office.

Only household generated waste is accepted at these facilities, all commercial waste needs to be taken to a registered waste facility where gate fees will be applied.

Fobs must be returned to Council if a property is sold, and the new owner is required to complete an agreement of their own.

CCTV remote monitoring of these facilities occurs through Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in accordance with the Walcha Council’s Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Policy and Code of Practice.
