Walcha Council’s Position Statement on New England Renewable Energy Zone for the Walcha LGA

At the December 2025 Ordinary Meeting Council reviewed its position in respect of renewable energy developments that may occur in the Walcha LGA. This opportunity arose with the intensification of interest and concern about renewable energy projects. 

The Position Statement will be utilised to convey to the community and key media outlets the Council’s position in regard to renewable energy projects and infrastructure occurring in the Walcha LGA.
