Council at its Ordinary Meeting held on Wednesday 30 September 2026 endorsed the recommendation that the recently purchased properties at 28N Towers St, Walcha and 4 Sempill Cres, Walcha to be placed on public exhibition with the proposal to classify them as “Operational Land“.
Council purchased these properties with assistance from the Dept of Health, Disability & Ageing, to provide accommodation, for the exclusive use of staff working in Aged Care, until October 2029. The land is required to be classified as Operational Land.
The land classification for these properties is on public exhibition from Thursday 1 October 2026 to Friday 30 October 2026.
Council will accept submissions on the classification of land until 11:59pm on Friday 30 October 2026. Submissions must be in writing and be submitted by email to council@walcha.nsw.gov.au or posted to PO Box 2, Walcha 2354 or in-person at Council Office at 2W Hamilton Street Walcha.
